FAQ

Common questions, answered.

A few things people usually want to know before reaching out. If your question isn't here, just ask when you get in touch.

Where are you located? Do you meet in person?

I offer both in-person sessions in the Philadelphia area and online sessions for clients located anywhere in Pennsylvania. In-person availability is arranged around scheduling, so mention it when you reach out and we'll find a time that works. For online sessions, you can meet from wherever you're comfortable and have privacy, as long as you're physically in Pennsylvania at the time of the session.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are 53 minutes. Couples, family, and group sessions are 80 minutes. We'll talk about the right frequency for you during our first conversation and settle into a rhythm that fits your goals.

How do online sessions work?

I use SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform built for telehealth. Before each session you'll get a private video link through the SimplePractice client portal. All you need is a quiet, private space, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet, or computer.

Do you take insurance?

No, I don't bill insurance directly. I'm a private-pay practice. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurer for possible partial reimbursement. How much you're reimbursed, if anything, depends on your specific plan.

What does it cost?

Individual sessions are $125 for 53 minutes. Couples, family, and group sessions are $225 for 80 minutes. We start with a free consultation, and we'll talk through everything then.

How do I get started?

It starts with a free consultation. Reach out through the consultation form, and I'll follow up personally to find a time to talk about what's bringing you in, what you're hoping for, and whether we're a good fit to work together.

Are you a licensed therapist?

Yes. I'm a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in Pennsylvania (License #AMF000157). I hold a Master of Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University and trained at Council for Relationships, where I provided more than 375 hours of supervised therapy to individuals, couples, and families. As an associate, I practice under the clinical supervision of Dr. Jacqueline Hudak, Ph.D., LMFT (PA License #MF000752), an experienced marriage and family therapist, which means my clinical work is reviewed regularly to support the quality and integrity of your care.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults, couples, and families. My practice centers on individual therapy, men's therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. I tend to work best with thoughtful, motivated people who are ready to look honestly at their patterns and do real work.

Who is this not the right fit for?

My practice isn't set up for psychiatric crises or for needs that require a higher level of care, such as active safety concerns or situations that call for more intensive or medical support. If that's where things are right now, it doesn't mean help isn't available. It means a different setting would serve you better. If you're in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Is what we talk about confidential?

Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential, within the limits required by law and professional ethics (for example, situations involving an imminent safety risk). We'll go over how confidentiality works at the start of our work together.
